Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

Oh, the weather outside is snow, snow, snow! Its actually a very pretty snow. Its on the grass, and tree, but it melts pretty fast on the road. It snowed all day here today. Big huge flakes started about 7:00 ish this morning and its 8:30pm. Still snowing. We have about 4 inches.
But, I was able to get out to Reasors... I was all snuggled in paying bills ( yukko), the fire going and hot tea ready. We were out of toilet paper! Yep not a square of it anywhere! I had to go get some.
This was every kids dream in my room today. We did our best to learn something, but I just don't know. Finally, after lunch we bundled right up and went outside with our black construction paper and caught snowflakes, we caught a bit on tongues, too. Then back in for hot cocoa and marshmellows. They are really good if they think we might have hot cocoa! They even wait their turn! We spent this afternoon learning to write poems.
You know the 5 line...
noun,
adjective, adjective
verb, verb, verb
statement,
synonym.
yea thats the one. They were really cute! We started with mitten and ended with glove. They had to fill in the middle.
Other than that not too exciting! Im sure we will have school tomorrow, the road are OK and even the county/counrty roads are Ok. Remember I live in a small town 18 mi north of Tulsa.
I have a huuuuuuge wedding this weekend at BAUMC. Rehearsal is tomorrow night and the wedding Saturday night. Tu plays right after the wedding. busy day.
I am so hungry for some roast and lemon pie! hmmm just drop it off at school tomorrow, I eat at 11:45!!!

Its snow time

We are forcasted to have SNOW-- lots of it, in the am. But, who know? I have food in the pantry, and 4 wheel drive, I am ready.
It probably wont start until we get to school and snow all day. Great for a room full of 2nd graders excited about the 1st snow! Cant wait... I can hardly sleep... NOT
Anyway, Chili for supper tonight, no dessert, the belly is blossoming and we cant let that happen. It's Pam fault anyway with that cheese cake from last week. There was probably 200000 eggs and 500 chunks of creme cheese.... Its all on my butt! My sister and I have a Bertha Big Ass Pact. I was a funeral many years ago and sat on the row behind all my aunts. I made a quick assessment that being of 'German' descent, the hineys spread.... and spread... and spread. So my sister and I decided that if we started to get Bertha Big Ass, we would tell each other, and we will. If not my niece will tell us both! So anyway I assess the ass periodically to make sure we are not in the Bertha Club.
Now, before i hear for you that not all German women have big butts, let me leave a disclaimer that at least in my family they do!!! I dont know about yours.
Speaking of family... I have all of my Great Grandmas old photos. most of them we can tell what and who they are, but we have a bunch that we have 'no clue'. Would there be a market for old pics of people you dont know? They are just setting in my 'craft/crap' room. No, mother I wont sell ANY of the one we can identify!
Off to bed, white snowy dreams to you

Queen Penny has arrived!!!

Here I am Mrs. America.... opps wrong song! Here I am Mrs. Queeeeen! That right. Pam and I went right on down to Tulsa last night and held court with THE SWEET POTATO QUEEN herself. Now, this girl is the 'southern version' queen. She was there with her hubs and talked a bit, read a chapter from her book. ( I could have read it better, in my Junie B Jones voice), but she was great. That place was packed! We got there 1 hour before to grab a bite to eat. We always eat when we go out. Anywho, we got 'A' tickets and sat on the 5 row aisle! Yep we were in touching distance. So, I bought 2 more books. I already had the Sweet Potato Queens Big Ass Cookbook and Financial Planner, The SPQ Novel, I bought the SPQ Wedding planner and Divorce Guide, and The SPQ Guide to Raising Children... She wrote messages in them to 'Queen Penny" see I have been annointed. My big ass crown should arrived any day. I will wear it with pride when I clean the house !
I went to the dentist... look ma, no cavities but I do need another crown! Not the one I really like, but a tooth crown. For the price I will pay I could have a diamond incrusted in my tooth!
Then I went to work and its not half bad teaching for 1/2 day. Son #2 plays basketball for BAUMC, so we are off to watch him tonight. He will be the cute one! hahaha.
I actually cooked tonight so my belly is so full, I could just curl right up on the couch and sleep away the potatoes and meatloaf! Oh well, hubs will drive. I always tell him he's the best driver, so that I dont have to drive, tehe tehe!
Better get, I need to powder my nose and put on shoes.
y'all run right on over to www.littletownbiglife.blogspot.com and visit the other queen Pam.

Sunday Silly stuff

Welcome to Sunday Silly stuff...
I have been sooooooo tired the past few days. I guess my fast paced week caught up with me. I slept a lot yesterday. The fog was so terrible here this morning! The road HWY 75 was closed in a few places because of frozen fog! Well, that is no excuse, but I watched Church on Ch 8.
I cruised the Internet for some kitchen ideas last night:

My dining room has brown wainscoting and wallpaper. This is what I would love to do. But, hubs doesn't say much about the inside decorating I do except, he doesn't want it painted! Hmmm I don't know for sure how I will pull this off.

I really like this kitchen! Yep I sure do, The end pieces are not hard, just trim you get at Lowes and put it on.

This one would work for me too. I like the clean look of white kitchen cabinets. I really want an island too.

I crafted today. I had an order for a girl at school. 1--her kids with a saying and she and 2 --- her husband with a saying. So I made a few valentine things too.
This one is on gold and beige paper with a pink heart. I am going to start selling these on my website. I have ordered some vintage valentine things, so I will have them up next week. Anywho, this one is $7.00. If it tickles your fancy email me and I will send it your way.

This one is $7.00 too. email me and it can be your.

Now, for the cream of the crop. I made myself a bracelet. I have always wanted one, but knew I would never spend $250.00 yes, that $250.00! I'm sure they are much neater at soldering, but hey it's for a holiday, not to wear all the time. Anyway there are things on both the front and back. I'm just loving it I will tell you so.
Tomorrow, Pam and I are going to see our all time fav... sweet potato queen at Barnes and noble. I have had my books: Sweet Potato Queens Big Ass Cookbook and The Sweet Potato Queens Novel. She the main Queen herself Jill Connor Browne will be there. I will be a groupie! I have never been a groupie before. I saw Elvis once, but wasn't that excited. Oh Rod Stewart was sort of like a groupie, but I was with Hubs. So I was well behaved.
Cant wait for tomorrow night !!!!!!!! Bring your books and come along.
That is about all for now, back to school tomorrow and a full week. I have a big big wedding nest weekend and time is flying right by.

Catering with Pam at Dresser Mansion. We did that on Thursday night. Last night- Friday. LAZY. I slept today until 9:30, then had a nap. I think another nap is coming in a minute. Then dinner out at Bishop Kelly HS. The Neri Foundation- Catholic at TU, Spaghetti, rolls, salad and dessert. Its always fun. They have a silent auction and hourly give aways. We usually get something!! Yep, that is a self portriate of Pam and moi! The hair is the new cut and the glasses are new. Now dont judge the cut form this pic. I looks awful. But thats about the length! Whatever it will grow. We are ar Dresser Mansion in Tulsa, Pam had the catering job and I helped! I just do that when she needs extra. THe dinner was for a graduation from OSU. Kind of a motley crew there at the dinner. I dont know how they alll belonged to each other, but quite a mix of people.
Pam, the chef is cutting cheese cake for dessert. It ws sooooooo yummy. I had some with both strawberries and chocolate! Oh, heavens sake, I thought I had died and gone straight to heaven. I wish I could live in this house and have this kitchen. SOOOOOOO wonderful!

This is the yummo cheesecake. If you are in the Tulsa area and need a caterer, she is your girl. You might get lucky and get both of us to cater. Only I dont cook for her. I just put stuff where she tells me to and do what she say.
Have a goos weekend and stay warm.

Arrgh...

I did the WalMart thing today. Nothing against WalMart, but I just don't like to go there. I usually go to Target, then Reasors. But its COLD here and I didn't want to get out 2 time. I also need a bit of fabric and Hobby Lobby was closed. So, I am in need of a new vac. The one I want is at Lowes and is $400. Its a Dyson. Anywho, that's not in the budget right now! WalMart had a vac for $45. Whatever, I threw it in the cart and finished shopping.
Wow, did we ever need a new one. I emptied the container 4 times before I finished the house!!!! How disgusting! I had no idea I needed one that bad! Yippee, I feel good looking at the carpets now.

Hubs has a 'cold'. you know the I am going to die, please get me some medicine. I got him Nyquil. I will knock him out tonight.

I did a phone meeting this afternoon with a bride. Whew, she is probably 70ish, but boy does she have requests! I will earn every cent on this one!!

Tomorrow is MLK Day and school is out, well not me. Its a professional day, so I will clean my room, move stuff around, get mitten unit ready and all of that fun stuff. Wednesday is a textbook mtg in Tulsa... borrrrrrrrring. Im lead teacher in 2nd grade and the one to go.... I hope I can stay awake. So I have to get lesson plans ready for then! Its really easier to stay at school.
Oh my goodness, I got a packet back from Teachers Retirement System. I could have retired this year!!!! go figure. how did I screw that up. Anywho Hub would like me to work 3 more years to pay off the house, nah, don't think so!!! Maybe but probably not.

Its getting late and I need to drug hubs and go to bed! hm mm, I slept in son#1's bed last night because hubs was coughing, best sleep I've had in a long time. I may try that again tonight, I think we need a new mattress too. whee, I may have to work 3 more years.

Tuesday Tidbits

One for the girls :
Now I lay me down to sleep I pray the Lord my shape to keep.

Please no wrinkles, Please no bags And please lift my butt before it sags.
Please no age spots, Please no gray And as for my belly, Please take it away.
Please keep me healthy, Please keep me young,
And thank you Dear Lord, For all that you've done.

Five tips for a woman....
1. It is important that a man helps you around the house and has a job.
2. It is important that a man makes you laugh.
3. It is important to find a man you can count on and doesn't lie to You.
4. It is important that a man loves you and spoils you.
5. It is important that these four men don't know each other.

Retirement... am I ready?

Ok, we all know I am really ready to do what I want when I want. But tonight I was calculating my retirement. Since I will retire at 52, I wont get SS for 10 more years. I will bring home about $500-800 less per month. hmmmmm I can always sub. But will I . Hubs said that I could sub at TU's School for the Gifted most days, also I could sub here in town and Owasso.
I really want to do this and have next year my last year. But, its kind of scary to jump off that cliff and go for it.
I do have this habit of spending money. But I wont need work clothes, I can do things like 'rock the babies' at DHS, volunteer at Little Light House, go on mission trips, CASA, oh so many things. Hmmm
I do believe I need lots of prayers. I need to sit still and listen, so pray that God in his infinite wisdom will lead me in the way that I am to go.
Some days I am soooooo ready to walk out and retire next year, but maybe just knowing that I can will be better.
hmmmmmmmm

Sunday Silly stuff

Oh where. oh where did the weekend go, oh where, oh where can it be...

Gee whilikers, that was one fast weekend.

These area few of my favs to start the week:

Lance got his diploma from TU this last week. I guess he paid his parking tickets. He has had the luxury of having a 'staff/faculty' sticker for 4 years. The 5th year, the parking changed. So his car had a student sticker.Hmmmm, I guess he got used to parking wherever. Oh well.

We were blessed by: 1. Having wonderful boys. 2. Tuition break at The University of Tulsa. 3. Having both boys graduate for TU.

Yes, I love this haircut!!!! Love it I say, BUT as you can see from the pic above my is getting long enough to pull back with a headband... But, I realllllllllllly love this! Hmmm what do you think, go for it or not????

Now, look at this adorable shoe. Wouldn't that look cuuuuuute sitting on the dresser in the bedroom? I think so.

I saw this poster and had to have it. Hubs always says if you love it then you can get it. Its my new motto:
Okey dokey, thats about it for Sunday silly stuff... Its back to work Monday!
Have a good Monday

Back to Work

Oh man, I had to go back to work. sigh!!!
I so loved this year of 'winter break'. I just did whatever I wanted. Hubs went back to work yesterday, but I got one more day. hahaha.
Ryan came home Monday and we have enjoyed having him here. Also Moey the dog. She is soooooooooooooo spoiled. Hubs never ever let the dogs in the house. Nope never! Now Moey, sleeps at the foot of our bed!!!!!!!!!!1 She is as spoiled at the boys are. He still has not let me drive the Mercedes! I even offered to fill it with gas. No Mom, you cant drive it yet. WHat was that I heard... yet! A glimmer of hope there????

We had big family dinner last night. Fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, okra, salad, cheese cake, rolls and tea! What a southern dinner and all fried up good to clog those arteries!!!!!yummyyyyyyy Mom and Rick came up from OKC, Ryan, Lance and Laura, Hubs Mom, and us. I cooked all afternoon. I made a jello salad from my fav cookbook., The SweetPotatoe Queens Big Ass Cookbook! But I forgot to drain the pineapple, so it dodnt mold, but we still gobbled it right down with a spoon.

Speaking of Sweet Potato Queen, Jill Connor Browne is coming to Barnes and Noble. Love her!!!! I have it on the calendar, Pam and I will be there first in line with our books in our purses and ready for her to sign them. Cant wait for that!

Ok, still not internet, so I am once again performing an illegal operation at school.... blogging at lunchtime. Oops.................

Better get, I have some stuff to do. Oh, I almost forgot.... the Reasors on 169 and Hwy 20 has wrapping paper for 50cents. I got two rolls of red toile, I did bulletin boards this am and I will go back for more after school. I love it.
