Rainy days and Friday's

Hey, Its raining finally in Colliinsville!  yippee, I didnt even mind running errands in the rain. We are way below where we need to be... so bring it on. And it actually cool today!!!! I have been on Pinterest lately and have FOUND a plethera of ideas... so here it goes....

Are these the cutest pumpkins you have ever seen... easy too.  I will be makinn some of them...

 Yep, I have a pair of Toms that are a little worse for the wear... seriously... for real cute...

OSU /TU game is this weekend... Hubs and I both went there, but he works for TU, the boys went to TU so our house is divided....Laura- DIL went to O State too. We will be in orange and they will be in blue.... pistols firing    whoopin up on the Hurricane!

Loved the movie The Help... Yes I have seen it 2 times and may take my bestie from Texas to it tomorrow... she is up for the ballgame too.... Love it

This I am just thinking would be good at our house.... yep I think so....

seriously... I dont know where to begin...

Well, I am still alive and kickin.. I have been subbing alot and also working at the consignment store... but I have a new friend that is taking way too much of my time... She is so addictive and controls my every minute. I really dont like needy friends, but she is so creative and has tons of ideas... she will become somewhat expensive... her name is Pintrest! Yep, Im hooked.......



 So, I could truly camp in this... I am not a camper, but with just 2 people this could be cute... well it would have to have AC and only in the mountains in the coolness or the beach... what do you think? oh and a bathroom is a must... I might need a bigger one...

 I am totally going to make this for somewhere in the house... I am thinkin about redoing Lances old room. He is married now and I dont think that it will be his again. wah wah... yes I love my boys and they are welcome anytime. but he live close enough that it can now become a neneP room... you know for grandbabies... no they are not pregnant... just working on it!   But Im thinking ahead...  Kinda like a scout... Be prepared...

 Now this is soooooooooo stinkin cute... Payton may get one of these for her playhouse hides out soon... maybe for Christmas or her next birthday... I do have another little girl I m thinkin maybe will get it for Christmas... more on that at a later time in the future.... gotta you thinking huh!

 This is adorable too. !!!!!!   I would like to make this but seriously Payton will need another room soon for her nenep stuff that I am making...

 Of course Payton with get this for Halloween,   another little sweetie will get on too...... Wow now you are really wondering who my secret girls might be...

Oh my my... its been a busy couple of weeks... i am doing some subbing at my old school and also the ECC-early childhood center... last week I subbed for the first 3 days... 19 in the am and 13 in the pm... they were cute and so eager to learn...  next week I am already subbing on Tues/Wed...maybe/ and Friday!!!!

We had a great supper with at the kids on Friday night at Lances... yummy food and we played with Bama-the puppy  and Ryan's girlfriend's daughter... she is 19 months and I am having a blast with her..... lets tallk spoiling her!

I have been learning how to coupon... arghhhh. I downloaded a book from Kindle... Krazy Coupon Lady... its informative and hopefully I can figure out how to do this stockpile stuff with can foods and non perishables... they even freeze milk when its on sale???? didnt know you could do that.

I had hubs cutting coupons and I am learning how to "stack" them... I will of course keep you psted on this adventure.... But I want a new kitchen and hubs says cash only... soI mut save every dollar for a while...

 If, I were still teaching I would make this for my door... cant remember the source but... adorable....and easy peasy! 

lastly.... I can pull off this pillow... I think I will make some for Christmas gifts... then I will put an inital in the middle of each one... so cute...


still working on Paytons little quilt,... hope to have it finished next spring or maybe finges crossed Christmas... her birthday is in a couple of weeks. I think I will wait and go down to Houston/The Woodlands sometime in the winter for a week and play with her !  I'm greedy and dont want to share my nienie time!

what... not at Piggly Wiggly!

My boys favorite most delicious supper is fried chicken- white meat only in my house... mashed potatoes, gravy, rolls, sweet tea and OKRA... So today I went by Piggly Wiggly in Cville to grab the groceries...

I finished and could not find the frozen okra in the freezer container at the Piggly Wiggly... seriously a Piggly Wiggly without Okra...

That is a serious offense south of the mason/dixon line.... So I just marched myself right up to the manager of the Pig and asked where the okra was... He went directly to the freezer section and found the big ol bag of frozen okra... It was hidden., why would okra be hidden???    Whew!!!!!   I thought there was going to be a serious problem if the Piggly Wiggly was out of Okra.... so the world is not coming to an end and the Piggly Wiggly is still alive and all is well with the earth!

yard flag...

I was having a very lazy hot afternoon in the sauna  of Okla... anyway I went in the craft room and made a new yard flag for our front yard... I think I like it... BUT the next one I will make the same but put the letter on with applique...


These past few weeks have been sooooo hot... I dont do a whole lot of anything. I have worked at my fav place New Haven Day School as a sub... loving those babies, then at the consignment shop, then I had a stomach virus... but today its gone as I ate a HUGE lunch at Olive Garden after Church...

So glad I am retired... teachers are gearing up to go back to work/school. This would be my major whining day... the CPS teachers go back tomorrow... However I have been called to sub the first 3 days of school at the Pre K in Cville. That will be fun. Its so hot I wish they would wait until Sept 1 to go back to school... save a lot of money too. Can you imagine the elec bill for the school to run all the AC. whew!   

Other than that all is well on the home front....

too hot to think! so...

 Its too darn hot here in Okla... seriously we have not had rain for weeks.. I am watering all the yard and plants... if they are annuals, they dont stand a chance. My garden is not producing this year... too stinkin hot... today is a cool day at 98... generally its been 101-107...

anyway I made this bird thingy above for our backyard birds... its easy peasy...
You need: birdseed - 4 cups. clear caro, flour, water and plain gelatin...
mix 1 pkg gelatin with 1/2 c, warm water, then add  3/4 c flour, 3T corn syrup and mix that up ... it looks like that old fashioned paste we used back  in elementary  school... so then add the bird seed.  I used my pastry blender to mix it all up.... then spray a bunt pan and smush this stuff in the pan... let it sit till it hard. about 12 hours.
Turn it over, slap a bow and presto hang it up for the birds.....

ok seriously I dont feel like eating much and so I am really scaling back on carbs ... thats the only thing that sound good beside fruit.  So I need to make 6-8 lbs vanish, tootle loo, be gone!  I am going to follow this blog link up on facebook and do it to it... I have a virtual gym at my house... do I use it no!  we have a treadmill, elliptical, inversions table, weights and all sort of work out videos, even a wii!  So I shall get up off my hot butt and get busy....  My reward will be a trip to the my favorite store right here in Cville. Gypsy Rose.. you can find it on facebook too...  I will give myself $10 for every pound.....
