crash bang

Oops... son #1 had a crash. He is a little bit sore, but no injuries! thank heavens!
He was driving on Preston and hit some sand, hydroplaned and landed in a pile of dirt. He had to have the Mercedes towed to his house. He has a rental car and will call the car repair place Monday. I'm so thankful he is fine, but his car isnt.

Cold here again, I have done laundry and cleaned the house, watched a movie and cooked dinner. Hubs went with some men from Church to take up a floor at the Childrens Home in Tahlequah... Dont know when he will be back???

Off t put away winter clothes and clean out the closet....

Where oh where is spring??

When is spring coming? I know I don't have a lot to whine about, but I need spring! Im sure those in Chicago area and the north are really tired of the white stuff. Where ,oh where, is spring?

I am ready to fling open the windows, clean, shine and sparkle the house. Go outside and clean the patio, paint the furniture, and eat outside. Im ready spring, where are you?????

I got some sad news yesterday. A friend of mine who used to give me the most awesome massages at her salon, lost her baby. She and her fiancee are to be married on Saturday. She went to the Dr yesterday for her ultrasound to determine the sex. They did not find a heartbeat. She was at the hospital this morning and they started labor. She will deliver the baby and they will have a service for him/her, at least grave side. I dont know what the plan for Saturday are at this point, but remember them in your prayers today.

What else...

This is not a good pic of my grand dog, but Moey is coming to live with us in May. Son #1 is going to be in St Louis for work. He will be a traveling Sr. Broker with his business, so Moey is coming here. She is soooooo spoiled. Hubs has never allowed dogs in the house, well Moey sleeps on the foot of the bed! She is a good dog, but she thinks that she is huge and tough and she is really small and scared! What fun we will have, lots of walks!

Hmmmm... off to a TU BB game, thats all the news from the homefront.

Home again, home again, jigidy jig!

Galveston, Oh Galveston.....

Its always so great to get home... This was what we woke up to in Galveston. We had a great time. The weather was wonderful and we didnt do anything but walk on the beach, sit under the umbrella, and eat!!!! We ate a lot! I did remember to use sunscreen this year! yippee. only my feet got a little red

Isn't Miss Moey's new dog collar the cuuuutest thing! She was modeling it for my web page! She is such a sweet little thing! She is coming to live with us off and on while Son #1 travels. We had a fun time with Son #1. We ate at a neat pub in Frisco and then he and I went to IKEA, while hubs slept! Whoa, I bought so much stuff at IKEA! Son #1 got a new quilt cover, sheets, flatwear, and other stuff and I got a kitchen island, candle sticks, lots of candles and kitchen stuff. Probably more crap than I need, but whatever! The weather in Dallas is wonderful, we rode in the Mercedes with the top down this morning to go to Sam Moon, then got home to Cville and started a fire! Yep the difference 4 hours makes!

Tomorrow is Easter and hubs birthday! We will go to Church then back here for a cookout anad lunch. I made a red velvet cake - from scratch this evening and about made myself sick on the cream cheese icing! But I am sure I will force myself to eat more....tomorrow. I think of all those little girls in their Easter dresses with coats and sweaters on! BRRRRR!..

Better go, I slept most of the way home today and I am still ready for bed.

cooking and crafting

Spring Break... whats a girl to do?

I am the messiest crafter and baker. I got flour all over the kitchen and just made a giant mess when I made the boys cookies! I cant keep that kitchen clean. Then Saturday I was crafting away in the crap/craft room and stepped on a piece of soldered metal stuff with the copper tape stuck to it! I had messed up a project and took the tape off, well I missed the trash can and my foot still hurts. I have looked and looked and I cant find anything in it,but something tells my little brain that it won't mix well with beach sand and ocean water! I considered going to the Dr., but that would 1. hurt 2. hurt 3. hurt more than now, so I will soak it tomorrow and hope it gets better. I guess the worse would be to 'fester up' and get all gross and white puss come out , gross!
So where was I going with this whole post... I never leave town without cleaning the house. I have a phobia that I might die and the house would be dirty! AND I always want to come home to a clean house. So I need to clean the kitchen, bathrooms, laundry room, vac the house, dust and clean the kitchen. All the while I am finishing the laundry and packing, gas up and load the car to go as soon as hubs get home!

Sunday snippets

My wish came true... I have wanted a kitchenaid mixer FOREVER! Yes, I sure have, but there have always been hundreds of things to come first and I had a mixer. However today as I was mixing away, it started to smoke and there I was without a mixer, so off to Linen and Things to get a new one, Mine is white and I love love love it.

I made about 8 dozen easter egg and carrot cookies for the boys. We will take half of them to Ryan and Lance gets the other half.

The beach is calling my name. If hubs can get everything finished and wrapped up tomorrow, we get to go on Tues morning, if not Tues evening. I need to go to Ikea and get a new kitchen island, and other stuff!

Thats it for today. I am off to make a few pieces of jewelry to deliver tomorrow.

Saturday nothings

How often do you trash eye make up? I dumped all my stash this morning and I got new Almay at W-Mart, but I really want to try MAC. Is it worth the extra $$$$?

Yesterday was hair do day, so off I went to Uptown and go a new do. Its summer blond and this is the new style. I have to let the sides grow out a bit, but this is the basic style! Whats with the tattoo on her back?? What does it say? I about crapped out when my 2 sweet loving boys got a tattoo! Yep, I almost puked! Back in my day is was for the wacko kids. You know the thugs, scum, gross kids without parental love and bonding! My the times have changed. I am trying to change with them, but I CANT go there.

I detest going to WalMart! But its cold today and I could stop one time instead of going to 3 places!!! arghhhhh! It wasnt as bad when I started as when I finished. There are crazy people there and people that need a bath and to brush their teeth and..... I genereally go to Target and then to Reasors, but I was wanting to get home to make a cake to take to a SS party tonight.

I need lots of stuff to take to Galveston......

Got to go frost my pistachio cake. And have a tiny bity power nap!

We went to Rent

We went to the Theater tonight... saw Rent... hmmmmm? It was good, I'm glad I saw it. hubs and I were among the older in the audience. It really reminded me a bit of the old classic 1970's Rock Horror Picture Show, water down a bit.

Friday night.... Symphony tickets..... Gershwin ..... what a difference 2 day will make!


Tomorrow I am off at noon and pick up son #2 at the airport and go grab a bite to eat. Yippee the boys are back in town! Well at least 1 of the 2.

March 12, 1984

Yep, the baby in our house is turning 24 tomorrow. He generally celebrates his birthday at the beach! In years past... its been with the 'frat boys', this year he is in Hawaii on the beach!

Anyway, where has the time gone, It seems like yesterday I was calling the Dr telling him I was have contractions, giving birth, coming home and having Lance attached to me for the next 6 years. I would walk away from his line of sight and he would scream! He wanted to be held and cuddled all the time. Ryan would always say" momma, put baby down and hold me a minute", I would and Lance would scream!

Then was T-ball, basketball and swim lessons. The first time he spent the night away and the trips to Grandma's house in OKC. He was the cutest little ornery boy! Well, he still is! What a delight he has always been to this family. He keep us laughing and always want to please everyone and make us all happy! We are so proud of him and his achievements. He is a recent graduate of The University of Tulsa.

So HAPPY BIRTHDAY Little Boy named Lance, (I used to lay in bed with the boys everynight and recap their day with a story about Little boy named Lance and Little boy named Ryan, I would start at breakfast and sometimes make up stuff we didnt do, they would just giggle. Oh, the little things we do as moms.) we love ya bunches!

Spoiled rotten

Yes, I do admit it... I am spoiled rotten. I was reading shabbee chick's blog. She stated how she is so grateful for her hubby and it made me think how lucky I am. Lets make a list
1. coffee in bed every morning.
2. cleans the kitchen after every meal.
3. puts gas in my car
4. opens doors for me
5. devouted always
6. never questions money spent on 'needed' stuff. As long as I 'love it' I can get it within reason
7. supports every single time I start a new craft!
8. builds me whatever I need or want at home.
9. drops me off at doors when its cold.

11 a great father for our children!

I am sure there are more wonderful thing, but these are just a few! Hubs birthday is Easter Sunday. I have thought and thought and cant think of anything! We are going to Galveston and he says he doesnt need anything. He does need a new suit, but thats about all ... what wonderful gift have you gotten for your hubs?????????????? leave me a comment.

I thought I could get him a bracelet to match my necklace from Tiffany's, but I just dont think thats what we would call a gift for him. But, it would make me look good. hahahahahaha

Have a great week. One to go until spring break! I am soooooo ready and so are the kiddos! We have a hundred things going on, this week and son #2 will turn 24 on Wednesday... He is the "BABY". arghhhhhhh. I think I will meet him at the airport on Thursday to welcome him home! He gets in at 12:30 pm. guess that means 1/2 day off! But its for my boy!

Hubs is working late tonight... I stopped at Reasors and got one of those rotisserie chicken, slapped it on warm in the crock pot, rolls, salad, wallah.... dinner!

I went to the 8th floor- a consortium we are in at CPS, to take an excel class. I did good until she started talking about all these formulas... wait just a minute, I dont want to learn that, I just want to make a spread sheet and print it with grids! Oh well, I can make one with formulas, so if you are needing a spread sheet with a running total and how to do commissions... I am your girl!

I have signed up for a Photoshop class in April! They are free and I get off school to go, plus staff development points. What more could a girl want!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been planning our trip to Port Angeles WA for August. My niece is getting married,so we are going to make it a week trip. Leave on Wednesday, go to Port Angeles for Thurs-Sun., leave on the 8:30 ferry to Victoria and be there for the day, come back to Port Angeles and then back to Seattle. Fly home the next day! sound good for me! I have been to Seattle a few time and to Victoria. Victoria is my all time fav place to go. Its sooooooooooooo pretty and quaint! Love the Empress Hotel soooooo much!

Ok, I better get to my chores. The maid has not been coming, oh we dont have one. whhhhhaaa.

I just love this book...

This is my all time favorite series of books. She is just so much like me when I was a little girl. I was always getting into some kind of mischief. I really didnt mean it, it just happened. Anyway, these are great books. I love to read them to the kids at school. I turn on my Junie B voice and they crack right up.

Son #2 ,aka baby boy is going to Hawaii in the morning. What a fun trip for him. He's packed and ready to roll. He is going with Laura and her fam. Her mother is from Hawaii and they are going for a Memorial Service for her Grandfather. Her grandparent live on a few acres and have a macademia nut farm. mmmmmmm good! I hope he brings his momma some nuts and pineapple. Oh. he will be there for his birthday! What a great gift.

My sister is leaving tomorrow for Atlanta... the NASCAR races. I just dont get the whole sit on top of the 5th wheel and watch race cars go around and around. But they really love going, I guess. I would be headin to Buckhead for a little retail therapy... Have fun sissy!

Oh yea, I almost forgot... I am related to a Nascar driver... ready for this Rick Mears is a cousin! My greatgrandpa...papa and his great grandma were brother and sister. Guess we are really close huh. I probably wouldnt know him if we passed on the street. oh well

I have an order for some jewelry for Jenks pom and cheer! Got to get these out this weekend.

This weekend I made 13 jewels to put on the web. Yep, I making progress. Shabbee Chick is busy planning a site. Because the site I made at yahoo, was an ugly site.
My goal is the end of March.... I made some OU baubles today. I am surprised my fingers didnt rot off. But I did counter it with a bit of OSU! Scary what I will do for money!


I had a power nap today, so its 11:30 and I am an energizer bunny. I just had my favorite drink... sherbet/7up float. If you live in the Ok area you know Braums, I think the prerequisite for employment there is slow and not really bright. I ordered an sherbet/7up float once. The person said: we dont have those
me: sure you do, just put sherbet and 7 up
